Mosquito Misting Systems Work

MosquitoNix mosquito misting systems are test-proven for insect control through the automated misting of natural insecticides around the perimeter of your home and yard. MosquitoNix will install a structure customized to your specific home, yard or property needs. The mosquito misting system is placed around the perimeter of your property for mosquito prevention.

MosquitoNix mosquito machineThe MosquitoNix system is installed using a variety of different custom and unique techniques. We design a mosquito misting system that will form a mosquito prevention perimeter around your home using your fence line, eaves of your home, and trees using nozzles every 10 to 12 feet. In addition, we can also attach mosquito misting nozzles to wrought iron fences, concrete pillars, gutters, and cyclone fences. We also use copper risers in well-landscaped areas. The power and control portion of the "mosquito machine" consists of a reservoir, a control unit and a pump that are stationed in your garage, shed or another designated outdoor area.

To set how often your misting system should go off, monitor the mosquito population and let them be your guide. Between 3-4 mists per day with 20 to 45 seconds duration is average. Consider the times you are generally in the treated area and try to set the timer around these times if possible. After initial installation, you should set the mosquito misting system to activate 3-4 times a day for 20-45 seconds until you gain control of your yard (usually 2-3 weeks). As the number of insects and mosquitos decrease, you may reset the system to mist fewer times per day. If there are more bugs, you may set the system to mist more often (MosquitoNix recommends not to mist more than 6 times per day). Increase or decrease the number of sprays and the duration of the spray according the time of year and the number and concentration of mosquitos and insects .

MosquitoNix YardSince many of the biting insects are active during the night, MosquitoNix recommends misting during the evening and nighttime hours. An average mosquito machine may go off late evening, 1 hour after sunset, 2 hours after sunset, and around sunrise. You can, however, have the system go off during the day depending on your mosquito prevention needs. For example, if you are having friends over at 7PM it might be a good idea to have the system go off at 6PM and 6:30PM to eliminate mosquitos for your get together.

MosquitoNix can adjust the times and durations during each service call or when we are out to fill the tank, or we can teach you how to set the mosquito machine yourself.

Our mosquito misting systems use a regular 110v outlet and may be turned off during times that you are having outdoor gatherings. Simply unplug the mosquito misting system or switch the "pump control" to the off position. To power the mosquito machine back on, plug the unit back into an outlet or move the "pump control " to the auto position.
